I have said too much when people have asked me, that I don’t think Oslo is pretty. And I’ve always thought that Oslo was an ugly city that I never wanted to live in. I never understood why people would come here to visit! Until now.
I just moved to Oslo, 2 weeks ago. (I’ve lived outside of Oslo my entire life). It’s not until now, when I take the busses and trams in Oslo that I really get to see everything and how beautiful it really is.
This Friday, our last school assignment was to go to Vigelandsparken, to look at ALL the statues. We were going to take our time, and really look at it all and see how it was all created. The park, the statues, the surroundings. I WAS STARSTRUCK. Everything was so beautiful and i simply loved it. So if you are going to Oslo, please stop by Vigelandsparken/frognerparken!

i’ve been there in march.. and loved it! probably my fav place so far alongside the opera house. well.. very banal though
otherwise i didnt really like Oslo.. i’m just in love with all other places in Norway that i’ve been to.. like Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, Tønsberg.. i even had to come back in July – i missed Tønsberg and Trondheim too much. but i’d really love to love Oslo too.. if you could make more posts on what you find beautiful in the city..it’d be exciting!
Yes i defo will! Im wondering about making a video of all the beautiful places i see! I should do It soon though, before the sun disappears for good!
Hi Karin,
I can only complain about the prices and the weather, still, it was very memorable. I also enjoy watching your Norwegian language videos, although I mostly used English.
I visited Vigelandsparken in late July, and was absolutely amazed. A really special place. And I have to tell you, it was my very first time in Oslo (and also in Norway). I liked the city as a whole: the shops, the bars, the fjord, the islands, the trams, and especially the people
I am so glad you liked Oslo!
And im really happy you watch the videos aswell!
Å du er so bra Karin.
Hi Karin!! Subscriber from youtube here, found your nice blog!! I also travelled to VigelandParken last June ’10, and I think it seems much better in the Summer !! Lots of people were sunbathing and really having fun and enjoying the Sun. (yes it was nearly 25 degrees C ! ) I guess it is usual for all Oslo people to visit that great architectural sculptures by Mr.Vigeland and Frognerparken or Slottsparken every summer. Greetings from England and keep posting interesting stuff about life in Scandinavia!
